I’m not sure whether you are one of the million people who use daily deal sites such as Groupon, but perhaps this news will make you consider LivingSocial – an international website for mobile and online daily local deals.
LivingSocial has changed its mobile application to support Twitter integration in iOS 5 – Apple’s latest operating system so that iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users have a new way to easily share tempting deals with friends using the LivingSocial App for Twitter.
Users who tweet a deal will receive that deal for free if three of their friends also take up the offer.
Sounds pretty good to me!

This new upgrade lets users share on Twitter what they have just bought straight from the LivingSocial app. The incentive being that you have the chance to receive your deal for free.
The “me+3” programme gives users a unique link to share with friends after they buy a deal, so that LivingSocial can know which user has referred them and gift them with their deal free once three friends take up the offer.
“Our mobile app is something that a lot of our members use to find and get new deals. With the iOS 5 integration, it’s a lot easier to tweet our offers and deals. The Twitter button comes up and you can get the word out to followers.” said Brendan Lewis, director of corporate communications at Washington-based LivingSocial.
As Twitter is built directly into iOS 5, the integration allows users to sign into their Twitter account once and then tweet from all Twitter-enabled apps installed on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This makes it really easy and quick to share your deals with friends.
Considering recent reports that have suggested daily deals sites like LivingSocial and Groupon exaggerate the discounts a consumer can make by inflating the original price, this new addition to its mobile app comes at a very good time. LivingSocial will no doubt see an increase in sales now its users can benefit from spreading the word.
I have always used Groupon, but I am now going to download the LivingSocial app to try and get a free deal!
